How we verify data

A wrong address can cost you a day of work. That is why every detail in this guide goes through the same process.

1. Official sources first

We start from the Government of El Salvador's channels: each consulate's site on rree.gob.sv, the appointment portal, the National Registry of Natural Persons (RNPN), the General Directorate of Migration and Foreigners, and each consulate's official social media accounts.

2. Double-checking

A detail is marked confirmed when it matches in at least two reliable sources, or in one recent official source. If sources disagree (for example, after a move), we use the most recent one and explain it.

3. Visible dates and linked sources

Every page shows the Verified stamp with the date of the last review and, at the end, the list of sources consulted.

4. Warnings when in doubt

If we could not confirm a detail (Saturday hours, a fee), the page says so with the notice Confirm this detail with the consulate before you go. We would rather say we are not sure than give you wrong information.

5. Regular reviews

We review every consulate at least once a quarter, and immediately when a consulate announces changes. If you spot a mistake, let us know.
