How much procedures cost at the Salvadoran consulate

Fees in US dollars for procedures done at the consulates of El Salvador in the US. Appointments are always free.

Quick answer

At Salvadoran consulates in the US the DUI costs $35 (renewing it online with home delivery costs $55), the passport $60 and a power of attorney $40. Booking the appointment is free. The Salvadoran apostille has no fee, but since June 2026 civil records first need the RNPN authentication ($20).

Consular fees are set by the Consular Fee Schedule in El Salvador's Organic Law of the Consular Service (art. 212-bis) and, for passports, its art. 251. The DUI abroad is governed by the Special Law for Issuing the DUI Abroad (Legislative Decree 685/2005). By law, consulates cannot charge fees other than those in the schedule.
